What the Week Actually Looks Like
Step 1: Intake Call
A free call with Dr. Giglio to understand your child's history, where they are in
their journey, and whether Confident Crew is the right fit. No commitment required at this stage.
Step 2: Lead-In Sessions
1–2 preparatory therapy sessions with Dr. Giglio before camp begins
(timing varies by child). These build rapport, introduce key skills, and set your child up to enter camp with their best foot forward. Billed at $200/hr. Number of sessions is determined after the intake call.
Step 3: 50% Deposit to Secure Your Spot
$1,500 deposit required to confirm enrollment after
your intake call and lead-in sessions are scheduled.
Step 4: 5-Day Intensive Camp (July 6–10, 2026)
9:30 AM – 1:30 PM daily in Kennebunkport,
Maine. Morning meeting, games, classroom-style activities, real-world community outings, lunch, and a
daily visit to the prize store. Each child works with a different counselor each day to build brave talking with new people.
Step 5: Parent Training Sessions
Guided sessions where Dr. Giglio coaches you in real time on
therapeutic techniques using earbuds — so your child sees natural parent-child play while you get expert support.

Who is Confident Crew for?
Children ages 3–10 diagnosed with or presenting signs of selective mutism, social anxiety
disorder, or separation anxiety disorder. New families must complete 1–2 lead-in sessions before
camp to confirm fit.
What does a typical day look like?
Camp runs from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The schedule mirrors a school day: morning meeting, games,
classroom-style activities, real-world community outings, lunch, and a daily trip to the prize store.
Each child works with a different counselor every day to practice brave talking with new people
What are lead-in sessions and do we need them?
Yes — lead-in sessions are required for every camper. They take place with Dr. Giglio in the weeks
before camp and establish rapport, introduce key skills, and ensure your child enters the program
ready. They are billed separately at $200/hr. The number needed varies by child and is confirmed
after the intake call.
Does Confident Crew accept insurance?
No. Payment is made directly. We provide documentation so families can submit claims to their
insurance independently.
What is the intake call?
A free call with Dr. Giglio to learn about your child's history, where they are in their journey, and
whether Confident Crew is the right fit. No payment or commitment is required at this stage
How many children will be in the camp?
We run the camp with a minimum of 5 and up to approximately 10 children. Each child receives
individualized support and their own daily treatment plan.
Who are the staff?
Dr. Melissa Giglio directs the program and works personally with every camper. Counselors
include trained professionals and graduate students who specialize in working with children with
anxiety disorders. All counselors complete a comprehensive training program before camp begins.
We are not in Maine. Can we still come?
Yes. Families travel from across the U.S. and internationally to attend. Kennebunkport is a
beautiful destination for a family trip. All you need to do is be in town from July 6–10.
What are the benefits of intensive group therapy over weekly sessions?
Intensive practice leads to faster, more sustained progress. The group setting means children
learn through peer modeling — they inspire each other to be brave. And camp is fun, which is exactly
